About the grade

A grade for extruding PET sheet, which is then thermoformed into packaging: food trays and containers, lids, blisters and inserts. PET sheet is clear, rigid and holds its shape well, so packaging made from it shows off the product and protects it in transit.

Why this viscosity range

Sheet needs a melt with sufficient strength: during extrusion the web must not sag, and during thermoforming it must not tear or thin out unevenly in the corners. The viscosity range of this grade provides that strength margin while keeping the sheet clear and easy to form. Consistent viscosity from lot to lot means uniform sheet thickness and fewer rejects during forming.

Processing

The pellets are dried before extrusion; on lines with vacuum degassing, resin preparation is agreed according to the equipment's capabilities. Recommended conditions are given in the TDS. When selecting the grade we take into account sheet thickness, draw depth and clarity requirements.

Supply and documents

Big bags or container shipments; packing and the minimum lot by agreement. Each lot comes with a quality certificate and a certificate of analysis (CoA); for food packaging, copies of the FDA and EU certificates are available on request.

Request the TDS and a sample for a trial extrusion run.
