About the grade
A film grade for producing BOPET, biaxially oriented polyester film. Super-bright PET yields film with high clarity and gloss, which makes it suitable for packaging, laminates and printing, as well as for technical films, including films for solar panels.
Why this viscosity range
BOPET uses a lower intrinsic viscosity range than bottles. A melt of this viscosity spreads evenly through a flat die and handles machine-direction and transverse stretching well. Consistent IV is what matters most for film: viscosity variations lead to thickness variation and web breaks during stretching.
Processing
Before extrusion the pellets are dried, or processed on lines with vacuum degassing, depending on your equipment. Recommended conditions are given in the TDS. When selecting the grade we take into account the film type and thickness and the optical requirements.
Supply and documents
Big bags or container shipments; packing and the minimum lot are matched to your consumption, and for regular purchases we agree a shipment schedule. Each lot comes with a quality certificate and a certificate of analysis (CoA).
