About the grade

Grades for spinning polyester staple fibre and filament yarn. This resin is used to make nonwovens, fillings, spun yarn and fabrics for the textile, furniture and technical industries.

Why this viscosity range

Textile spinning uses a lower intrinsic viscosity range than bottles: the melt has to pass evenly through the spinnerets and draw well into fine fibre. Consistency is the main requirement: viscosity variations and foreign inclusions in the resin cause filament breaks, uneven fibre thickness and shade variation in dyeing. That is why, for fibre, narrow variation within and between lots matters more than any headline figure.

Processing

The pellets are thoroughly dried before spinning: moisture reduces melt viscosity and increases the number of breaks. Recommended conditions are given in the TDS. When selecting a grade we take into account what you produce — staple fibre or filament yarn — and on what equipment.

Supply and documents

Supplied in big bags and by container; packing and the minimum lot are matched to your consumption, and for regular purchases we agree a shipment schedule. Each lot comes with a quality certificate and a certificate of analysis (CoA).

Request the TDS and a sample and we will select a grade for your line.
